What data this blog collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: October 12, 2026.
Who is responsible
This blog (blog.jbearp.com) is run by Jean Pierre Arenas (“JbearP”), in Colombia. For anything related to your data, write to me at this email address.
What I collect and why
1. Visit statistics (my own)
To know which articles are read and improve the blog, when you open a public page your browser sends me:
- the page you visit, the date and how long it stayed visible;
- the website you came from (only its domain, e.g. “google.com”);
- your device type (mobile, tablet or computer) and browser;
- your approximate location (country, region and city), estimated from your IP address with the ip-api.com service.
Your IP address is not stored: only an irreversible encrypted identifier derived from it, used to count unique visitors. These statistics use no cookies, exclude bots, and are automatically deleted after about 13 months.
2. Google Analytics
The blog uses Google Analytics, which places cookies in your browser to measure audience. Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser's privacy settings.
3. Cloudflare
All traffic goes through Cloudflare, which protects the site against attacks and speeds it up. It may process your IP address and set strictly technical security cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
4. When you contact me or support the blog
If you email me, I receive your address and message and use them only to reply. If you support the blog via Bre-B, your bank shows me the name associated with the transfer. I never sell or share this information.
5. Radio
The radio only sends the song being played. It does not collect personal data.
Where the data lives
The blog runs on servers from providers such as Vultr (hosting), Hostinger (database), Cloudflare and Google, which may be located outside Colombia, mainly in the United States. I only use them to run the blog.
Your rights
Under Colombian data protection law (Law 1581 of 2012) and, if you are in the European Union, the GDPR, you can ask to know, update, correct or delete your data, and withdraw your consent. Since I don't store IP addresses, statistics can't be linked to a specific person; for anything else, just write to me.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it on this page with its new date.
